Weird new concept restaurant in Dubai

I don't know if this bothers me because it's not P.C. or because it's too weird. I think that if I got to chase the buffalo around with a spear, it might be cool. It's apparently a South African restaurant chain. "Steak ranches"--what are those?!

In Arabic, it's called "Spear", by the way.
I give them at least 1 point for the teepee ceiling lamps, though!

This would be funny if it wasn't true.

We had a storm last night--someone sent me these cool photos of the Burj Khalifa (a.k.a., building-formerly-known-as-Burj-Dubai)!

In other news, Dubai has apparently volunteered itself to host the United Nations headquarters, in the event they want to move out of New York. Read about it here. Interesting, for a variety of reasons--won't elaborate on here, but feel free to ask!

The Official Opening of the Burj Dubai!

...which has now changed its name to Burj Khalifa. Thanks, Abu Dhabi, for bailing us out, and for the fancy fireworks and light show!
