This is really not OK, right?

...because my friend just sent me a link to this costume and I really, really, really want Nugget to have one for Halloween. He may never forgive me if I do this to him, though. *sigh*

So we went to the doc yesterday. Baby is fine, but uncooperative. He seems to not want to settle in "engage" (I was misinformed earlier, apparently, by another doctor) and he is still sitting with his back to my back. I have another appointment on Sunday so we'll see what happens at that point. It does appear that he is quite comfortable where he is so I'm not expecting anything exciting to happen until I have my next appointment at this rate.

Anyway, we'll keep you posted. The weather here is AMAZING and I had my first air-conditioner free night last night. I've also been spending lots of time at the pool because the weather is just right--hope I'm not jinxing it by acknowledging it!!!

Week 39...and still waiting!

We're still here! Just waiting around for the big day when Nugget decides to grace us with his presence!

We have another appointment this Wednesday--last week, baby was sitting head down (good) but with his back to my back (not so good). I am hopeful he'll turn around this week--or maybe already has by now. He seems quite happy inside so we'll see when he decides to show up!

In the meantime, I've been trying to meet up with people for coffee/lunch/dinner dates before I am possibly sequestered with a small child for awhile...and before Mom & Dad show up in Dubai! We are so excited they are coming.

Downloaded some fun photos off my phone from the past few weeks...here you go!

I really wish I had bought this:

"The waiting...is the hardest part" -Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers

Well, we're in the final stretch here. Literally--it's ANY day now.

It's Eid al Fitr here in Dubai and everywhere is MOBBED with people. I had this great idea that we should go to Dubai Mall today and walk around (for exercise--it's still pretty hot outside) but...it was PACKED. You really couldn't walk anywhere without running into someone--so we ended up just going to the coffee shop, parking ourselves at a table and hanging out. *sigh* So much for my exercise.

Lots and lots of people!

Anyway, we are eager to get Nugget out here with us. Actually, more accurately, I am eager to have him join us out here...he's getting bigger and bigger and I feel like I'm close to exploding!! He has lots of people waiting on him (people calling every day to ask me if I'm in labor yet!), so I think the pressure is on! Anyway, hoping to have some news within the next few weeks...stay tuned!

Paul making paper airplanes at the coffee shop...we kind of kept him there too long, I think.

I think Paul looks pretty good in Cindy's glasses!

Our Weekend

Happy Labor Day weekend to all of you back home! I can't believe it's already Labor Day. 2010 has just whizzed by.

We had an exciting weekend--Thursday night was my (probably) last baby shower, held at Aisha's house by Aisha, Cindy and Nicole. It was really fun--we had our nails done and ate good food. I got some more cute things (really, this baby is VERY spoiled already) and watched a movie. Perfect night! (And as usual, Coco was the star of the evening--looking cute, standing up, getting kissed by Ollie the puppy...)

What is it with me and funny picture faces recently?!

Then yesterday, Paul finally got a haircut after I had pestered him for weeks--I told him that if this baby comes and he looks like Phil Spector in all the pictures that I would be really mad. While we were out at dinner with Cindy & Nick & baby Coco, we heard that a UPS plane crashed near the airport here in Dubai--sad.

Last night I started having all kinds of crazy stomach pain--but I was pretty sure it wasn't labor. I went in to see the doctor today and it turns out I somehow managed to pick up some gastrointestinal virus that has been going around. Fun! Luckily, Paul is fine and I am on the mend.

I am excited to see the doctor later on this week. When I went to see the ER doc today, he said the head was down ("engaged") and ready for delivery. We just couldn't figure out if baby was sitting sideways or with his back to my belly. I guess we will find out on Wednesday!

1 more week of Ramadan left. It has gone by quickly this year, which surprised me.

Anyway--Down to the wire. We are excited and nervous.
